Ret. General Wesley Clark vs Sen. McCain

Sen John McCain was a P.O.W. during Vietnam and endured being tortured by the enemy. All Americans should be grateful for his, and every veteran's, service to this nation. However, his credentials are rightly under review.

Retired 4-star general Wesley Clark is one of few people that can call into question Senator McCain's "military leadership credentials." and he does so stating that

"He hasn't been there and ordered the bombs to fall. He hasn't seen what it's like when diplomats come in and say, I don't know whether we're going to be able to get this point through or not,"
The former General makes a valid point. McCain is a good man but the strategic military experience he claims to have is smoke and mirrors. But, what about the War in Iraq and McCain's call for a surge? McCain has one excellent characteristic, he listens to the generals, and echos them loudly. If Bush had done so from the beginning, the war would have made a turn for the better years ago.

Some of my colleagues from the Right of Center would say that Obama doesn't have that experience either. However unlike McCain he doesn't claim to have those credentials.
